Potential Partnership

Thanks for submitting!

According to the USDA Census of Agriculture in 2017, the United States had 35,000 producers who identified as black, either alone or in combination with another race. In the 1920s at the peak there was 925,000 Black farmers in the United States. Today Black farmers account for less than 2% percent of the country’s 3.4 million producers.

Black farm operators tend to be older with smaller farms, fewer acres, and lower sales but with the same challenges as larger farms only fewer opportunities.

Farms to Grow, Inc's mission is to assist Black farmers and other under-served farmers/gardeners maintain and create sustainable farms and spaces to grow food and motivate the next generation of farmers to grow sustainably and with the community in mind.
