We collaborate with other organizations to empower communities to eat healthier with local food from their community farmers market.
Farms to Grow, Inc. is committed to helping African American and other minority farmers expand and thrive in their farming enterprises. We help facilitate the economic and community development goals that have been identified by the farmers.
Farms to Grow, Inc. values the environment. We are against GMO and 95% of our farmers use
heirloom varieties.
What does GMO mean? Genetically Modified Organism is the most common usage
(though 'manipulated' or even 'mutated' might also be appropriate!) The acronyms GEO (Genetically
Engineered Organism) or simply GM or GE are also used.
Genetic engineering is a radical new technology that forces genetic information across the protective
species barrier in an unnatural way.
FTGI consults with farmers on a day to day basis providing support wherever we can. We can help
acquire funding to maintain and expand your farm. FTG develops marketing strategies and gives you
the tools to expand your existing pool of resources. We strive to make lasting connections; developing a
strong network of farmers across the country and helping nearby farmers start farming co-op's all help
to strengthen the farming community. Whatever assistance you need Farms to Grow is committed to
helping socially disadvantaged farmers to grow their dreams.
